10 O'Clock West is the premiere Jazz Big Band at WHS and meets during the regularly scheduled school day.  Students are placed in the ensemble by audition and the ensemble has placed numerous members into prestigious ensembles like the Saint Louis Metro 8 All-District Jazz Band, Missouri All-State Jazz Band, and Jazz Saint Louis JAZZU Program.   The group performs a wide range of big band literature from the jazz genre and participates in festivals and performances with regionally and nationally acclaimed artists.  Students in this ensemble study both ensemble musicianship and jazz improvisation and theory.
