Brass Choir: focuses on performing brass choir literature and participates in the State Large Ensemble Festival. All brass instrumentalists (trumpet, horn, trombone, euphonium, tuba) are welcome to participate. Rehearsals are once a week after school, starting after Marching Band season. Auditions are for chair placements only. The director will not turn away any interested students.

Woodwind Choir: focuses on performing woodwind choir literature and participates in the State Large Ensemble Festival. All woodwind instrumentalists (flute, oboe, bassoon, clarinet, bass clarinet, saxophones) are welcome to participate. Rehearsals are once a week after school, starting after Marching Band season. Auditions are for chair placements only. The director will not turn away any interested students.

Modulation Z: is a winter indoor drumline ensemble consisting of students from Fort Zumwalt West, South, North, and East High Schools. It is the first and only combined competitive performance group in the district. Started in 2010, Modulation Z was created for students who did not have a winter drumline program at their “home” school to get the opportunity to participate in a fun and exciting percussion experience. All percussionists and any other instrumentalists interested in playing percussion are welcome to participate. Rehearsals take place in the evening during the winter and spring months. Auditions are for placement purposes only. The staff takes great care to find a role for all interested students.

Percussion Studio: is an extracurricular extension of the FZW percussion curriculum and meets upon completion of the marching season.  The Studio is open to all percussion students with a desire to dive deeper into the world of percussion.  Percussion Studio focuses on chamber, small ensemble, & solo percussion literature as well as Afro-Cuban & Latin percussion. Students will have the opportunity to travel throughout the local and Midwest region for performances, clinics & masterclasses.  For more information on Percussion Studio please email Mr. Flannigan.

Winter Guard: is founded on a tradition of excellence and professionalism. The program is constantly growing and open to all who'd love to find a home and passion for performing. While there is no experience required, we highly encourage anyone interested to join the Fall Color Guard, who performs with the Marching Band, to get a better foundation for the art of this activity!

Though students must meet all MSHSSA eligibility requirements, there are no additional requirements to audition; you do not need to be a member of the fall color guard team in order to participate.

If you would like more information about color guard or winter guard, please contact Mr. Brady Eaton (beaton@fz.k12.mo.us).
