Percussion at WHS
Percussion studies at Fort Zumwalt West provides 6th-12th grade students a program of study in orchestral, solo, chamber, world and jazz idioms. Students will have the opportunity to work with local & world-class artists & instructors creating well-rounded experiences in percussion training. Percussion students' year of learning will culminate with our annual Night of Percussion, held each April.
Large Ensemble Experience
All percussion students will participate in one of the outstanding wind-bands at Fort Zumwalt West, and are selected for an ensemble through an audition process. At FZW, there are three wind-bands: 1) Concert Band (9th Grade students), 2) Symphonic Winds & Percussion, and 3) Wind Ensemble. Each ensemble performs several concerts and participates in the Missouri State Large Ensemble Festival each year.
